PURPOSE:
To give support and encouragement to women who have, or have had, breast cancer (or think they may have).
WHY:
Many women hearing the word "cancer" hear "death" in the same sentence.
Some women have no one to confide in who will remain objective.
WHAT WILL WE DO?
-Accompany women to have mammogram's.
-Attend doctor appointments with women.
-Provide information relating to treatment.
-Be available for listening or providing company and support.
-Have monthly support group meetings for both a social time
and updates on medical information.
WHO IS INVOLVED?
A group of women in our Church who have had mastectomies, lumpectomy,
radiation treatments and chemotherapy of various kinds.
Each has a unique story that may be of help to someone in similar circumstances.
